Gunmen recently killed former Works Director, Hassan Jama’are, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, on Sunday night.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked and murdered Jama’are at about 10pm.
The incident happened slightly 24 hours after gunmen killed two persons in the Gudum Hausawa area of the state.
The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Ahmed Wakil, in a telephone interview with The PUNCH.
“The gunmen had trailed him and when he got to his house and was about to open the gate, they attacked him and shot at him at a close range. They also seized his Honda Accord car keys and drove it away.”
He added that Jama’are managed to crawl into the house and his family raised an alarm which attracted neighbours to the scene.
“The Police was informed and he was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor,” the PPRO added.
He said Police operatives have been complied to the area while the terrorists are being tracked by the Police for them to be arrested.
