The Edo State House of Assembly has impeached Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye.
Okiye removal followed a motion by the Majority Leader of the House, Henry Okhurobo, that Okiye be removed over allegations of high-handedness.
His impeachment letter was signed by nine out of the 10 members who were present during a concise sitting on Monday October 12.
Immediately, Marcus Onobun, was appointed by the lawmakers as the new Speaker of the Edo State House Of Assembly representing Esan West State Constituency.
Right after his appointment, Onobun dissolved all the house standing committees and soothed all the appointees of the house of their appointments.
