The current past Chief Judge of Kano State High Court of Justice, Shehu Atiku, has been laid to rest today, 28 September following his death on Sunday in Kano State.
The Spokesman of the Kano Judiciary, Baba Ibrahim Jibo, confirmed the death of the jurist in a press statement, announced on Monday morning.
According to Jibo, Chief Judge died of an undisclosed illness.
On Monday, The final Islamic funeral rites were performed on his remains at Umar Ibn Khattab Mosque, before his internment in line with Islamic religion.
The PUNCH reports that hundreds of sympathizers have continued to visit his private residence located on Sokoto road to condole with his relatives.
He retired from the bench in 2015 as the Chief Judge of Kano State.
He was loved for his humility, simplicity and sociable attributes to the society.
