Denmark beat Russia 4-1 at the Parken Stadium, yesterday, together with Belgium’s 2-0 win over Finland in Saint Petersburg, was enough for Kasper Hjulmand’s side to reach the last 16 as runners-up in Group B.
Denmark got a stellar strike in each half against Russia from Mikkel Damsgaard and Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, while Yussuf Poulsen and Joakim Maehle also struck late to provoke wild celebrations among the passionate home crowd.
