Football Icon Lionel Messi is about to reach for the stars by taking a break from his Barcelona soap opera as he dares to fire Argentina to the World Cup in Qatar which might probably be his last try to win the desired trophy.
The 33-year-old footballer, a record six-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, has won everything in the club game with Barcelona many times over but his international trophy cabinet looks bald in contrast.
“The only goal I have now is to win the World Cup with the national team,” he has said.
The nearest he could get was when he lost the final world cup match against Germany in 2014.
Thursday’s clash with Ecuador gives him the opportunity to start building onto one last pitch at that goal.
